CHRIS PLANTS joined the U. S. Army at 17 years of age, with his mother’s signature turning him over to the Army, and completed 6 years of service, at times in middle eastern countries like IRAQ , in combat. Later, Plants then attended Louisiana Tech University, on the G. I. Bill, earning a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering and was an engineer for General Motors prior to being recruited and hired to become a Special Agent for the FBI.
In 2003, Chris was accepted to the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and was selected by his classmates for the prestigious Leadership Award upon graduating the academy. During his 19 years as a Special Agent he served on the Little Rock FBI SWAT team, the San Antonio FBI SWAT team, and the New Orleans FBI SWAT team. He was a certified firearms instructor, certified tactical trainer, certified CQB trainer, certified Active Shooter trainer, and undercover agent for the FBI.
He has been a firearms instructor for new agent training at the FBI Academy. He has worked cases involving drugs, gangs, and violent crimes for the majority of his FBI career. Chris was assigned to lead the Crimes Against Children task force here in North Louisiana in 2012. During the eight years on the task force, over a thousand pimps and prostitutes were arrested, during his time with the Crimes Against Children task force, more than 50 underaged girls ranging from 14 to 17 years of age were recovered. Because of his work with the Crimes Against Children task force he has been invited to testify in trials as an expert witness for human trafficking cases. In one of the human trafficking cases that Chris investigated, multiple teenage victims were recovered, and he testified as an expert witness at that trial. The subject was sentenced to three life sentences.
He was also invited to serve on the Child Abduction Rapid Deployment task force, one of the FBI's most elite squads.
In March of 2020, Plants’ founded Webster Parish Men of Courage and leads this ministry, to include a CHRIST FIT GYM part of the ministry, a free wheel chair ramp ministry, free Bible ministry, and many other outward public JESUS ministries in Minden, Louisiana.
He has been married to his college sweetheart for 28 years and is the father of four amazing children. Chris enjoys hunting and his newest hobby, cutting firewood, in his spare time.
